I really don't know what to do or say but I'd really like to give up on God.
AnonymousI’ve been where you are before. And believe me it’s easy to just say I’m done and walk away but faith is so much more than that. God will never leave you alone, everything you go through is for reasons. If nothing else it’s a lesson learned or strength earned. The things we go through shape us into the people we are meant to be. It’s those times where we feel the most alone that we need God the most and He’s waiting for us to acknowledge that. Can I ask what it is that’s making you want to walk away?
JESUS. The Name above all names. The High King among all high kings. The Lord of lords. The Alpha and the Omega. The Great I Am. The True Light. The Way, the Truth, and the Life. The Darling of Heaven. The Begotten Son of God.
Most of all, the One who truly loved you so much, He was definitely willing to hang Himself up on that tree on your behalf. He took the shame. He endured all the pain. He placed upon Himself the dirt, the weight, and the evil of all your sins. He did all that so that you will be accepted in the arms of His Father. He did all that just so your account and your slate will be wiped clean—forever. He did all that so you can get what He, the Pure, Innocent and Perfect Lamb, deserved. He endured all those things so YOU will benefit from them.
It’s because He loves you. It’s not just because it is His responsibility as our God to save us from the mess we are in. No. He did that because it was His desire— His one and only desire— to be with us, and to make us enjoy the burning, raging love He has for us.
Right now, if you’re still feeling guilty, or you think you deserve what is going on in your life, remember the cross and think again. YOU DESERVE SO MUCH MORE, beloved, because of what He has bought for you. Claim that. Believe Him, and know that He hasn’t changed from the very beginning. He is still irrevocably, crazily, and passionately in love with you.
